About Us

ENA members

ENA members are the companies that provide networks to move and use the electricity between the national grid and electricity consumers. Most of our members provide this network service to the electricity retailers who buy the high voltage electricity at wholesale prices from generators and on-sell it to most consumers, although some sell electricity network services direct to the spectrum of consumers, or to commercial or industrial customers requiring special supply arrangements.

Our members also provide the network systems to link in locally generated power from sources like wind and solar energy. A number run power system-related contracting businesses, avoiding unnecessary duplication and helping to reduce costs for companies choosing to use external contractors rather than maintain their own workforce.

Most of our member companies are owned by local community trusts or local bodies. Other members are wholly or partially listed on the stock exchange, or are owned by international corporations.

Our members are listed in the Links area. You can find out more about each of them by clicking on the relevant area in the Map of member company supply areas.
